Google announces ChatGPT rival Bard, with wider availability in ‘coming weeks’

Google is working on a competitor to OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT. The ‘experimental conversational AI service’ is called Bard and is only being tested by a limited group.We don’t know a lot about Google’s ChatGPT rival, but it’s called Bard and will be available to the public in the coming weeksGoogle’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, announced the project in a blog post today, describing the tool as an “experimental conversational AI service” that will answer users’ queries and take part in conversations.

Writes Pichai: “Bard can be an outlet for creativity, and a launchpad for curiosity, helping you to explain new discoveries from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to a 9-year-old, or learn more about the best strikers in football right now, and then get drills to build your skills.”

If Bard can understand and respond as well as ChatGPT, then it is more likely to capture significant market share by offering real-time information in a language of your choice.

Everyone’s talking about Google lagging behind and here I sit wondering what Apple will do. Any big tech with a voice assistant needs an equivalent to ChatGPT. Licensing deal for Apple perhaps? $AAPL $GOOG $MSFT
