Good Omens season 2 has officially wrapped filming, as director Douglas McKinnon marks the occasion with a fitting behind-the-scenes image. Good Omens is an Amazon Prime fantasy-comedy series based on the book of the same name written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Good Omens season 1, which aired in 2019, stars Michael Sheen as mild-mannered angel, Arizaphale, and David Tennant as rebellious demon, Crowley.
Good Omens was originally a six-part limited series, so fans were unexpectedly delighted when Amazon announced that the show would be returning for a surprise season 2. Many of the core cast will be returning, including Tennant, Sheen and Jon Hamm as Archangel Gabriel. However, Frances McDormand and Benedict Cumberbatch will not return to their voice roles as God and Satan, respectively.
The memorable quote is from Good Omens season 1, episode 1, “In The Beginning.” It demonstrates Aziraphale’s politeness , as he alludes to Crowley’s demon nature and invites him into his bookshop anyway. The quote has become a favorite amongst Good Omens fans, as it so perfectly sums up what makes Crowley and Arizaphale’s dynamic so compelling and funny.
Unsurprisingly, this behind-the-scenes image continues the tradition of keeping the plot of Good Omens season 2 tightly under wraps. Little is known about its story yet, although McKinnon photographing this particular door is certainly a full-circle moment, as it is also how Gaiman celebrated the beginning of Good Omens' filming. But with production on Good Omens season 2 coming to an end, fans are now one step closer to seeing what Arizaphale and Crowley get up to next.
