David Solomon, chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs, speaks during the Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills, April 29, 2019.Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said that working from home was "not a new normal" for the investment banking giant, calling it an "aberration."

In New York, Solomon said Goldman had up to a quarter of its employees working onsite and had managed to get the same number back into its London offices last summer and in the fall, when U.K. public health restrictions had briefly eased. "I do think for a business like ours which is an innovative, collaborative apprenticeship culture, this is not ideal for us and it's not a new normal," Solomon said.Solomon said he was particularly focused on ensuring that the next cohort of young workers to join Goldman Sachs this coming summer didn't start working at the firm remotely, as he believed they could miss out on "direct contact" and "direct mentorship.

MakeIt Spoken like a true boomer. This can never work..except it working now. I feel like they are really more worried about the depreciation of their real-estate assets and LTVs on their loans.

MakeIt Solomon’s hair line is an aberration

MakeIt GS not getting bailed out or not getting preferential treatment from the government is the an aberration

MakeIt bad for rent...and his mortgages

MakeIt Dinosaur says dinosaur things.

MakeIt 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻

MakeIt Says the guy who takes a black car or helicopter to work, has multiple assistants, access to corporate restaurants and an office larger than the median home size for a family of four.

MakeIt Take away his bonus this year

MakeIt Ok, I have been working in this aberration for 12 years and I love it.

MakeIt My company has been remote for the past 4 yrs. Profitable with low turn over. We will never go brick and mortar.

MakeIt Dated thinking. Dated industry. What could be more of an aberration than sitting in a cubical, faking being busy to appease an insecure control freak boss 8hrs a day, after spending 2hrs a day in traffic to get to and from such a miserable prison environment?

MakeIt Old, irrelevant white guy sez what?

MakeIt March14Coup: Myanmar security forces kicking & beating a young woman with gunshot wounds. WhatsHappeningInMyanmar MilkTeaAlliance Mar14Coup

MakeIt Here's an idea - corporations should build office isolation pods on land in every small town in America that can host one remote worker each - like a tiny, shiny, office building. Build a bajillion of them. Turn the downtown skyscrapers into robot factories or something.

MakeIt OK, Boomer

MakeIt Does he take public transport to work or a chaffeured luxury vehicle?

MakeIt I hate working from home, get me back onto the floor ASAP 😈

MakeIt thank you very much for your work

MakeIt And it will always be a banker who says this...

MakeIt And the internet is just a fad

MakeIt Reprinting old news

MakeIt Abomination. I think Europeans work like three days a week and like 5 hours a day. Their life quality is much much higher, so I read in some articles.

MakeIt Boomer mentality

MakeIt His wife can't stand a guy sitting at home all day doing nothin' but talking on the phone, unable to wash the dishes or to take out the garbage.

MakeIt They took a $1B during the financial crisis. Overpaid and frankly, if IPOs and offerings weren’t so regulated, they’d be out of business ASAP. ICO’s are their worst enemy and I’m sure he has an antiquated opinion on those as well.

MakeIt It's not an aberration... it's called adaptation.

MakeIt Hard to DeeJay while at home

MakeIt What’s wrong? 10 million a year not enough. We all need to toil and get sick so you can get a new yacht? Americans work more than any country and have the most billionaires and treat their workers the worst. Time for change.

MakeIt Actually...this guy is an aberration...soon we’ll get over it...

MakeIt 🤣🤣🤣 DeFi is coming old man

MakeIt I'm thinking you know, some places are open some aren't so much, not because it's this new thing to do in changing it up, it's because we're dealing with a global crisis

MakeIt This is when captions can be misleading. He said it’s an aberration for HIS company. And I totally understand why.

MakeIt It's funny to watch Wall Street old people try to adapt to a changing world.

MakeIt Well that’s the end of the luxury of working from home then. Shame that. We are sure we heard that productivity went up during lockdown.

MakeIt Do you think this is what people really need right now?

MakeIt Wow thanks for eliminating my job!

MakeIt He better get used to it then.

MakeIt Is working from the White House also working from home? Just asking ...

MakeIt Because he’s old and wishes he could have so he’s jealous. Set in his ways and stubborn. Pretty obvious

MakeIt It should be a mix. Working at the office is overrated.

MakeIt Lol, the big guy misses living like a king in the c suite.

MakeIt Oh he is probably a great one ask about the reality of risk. He does not travel in, work in, or therefore contaminate others.

MakeIt Yah people calling it a new normal are a special bunch, is it a new normal to social distance and wear 5 masks now? New normal not to eat out at a restaurant anymore ? nope just what we are doing to get through this lie

MakeIt The numerous perks of high status are most effective in person. Hence the C-suite yearns for the old days.

MakeIt This guy should stfu

MakeIt GoldmanSachs CEO needs to wake up from his money fueled dream life and get with reality....

MakeIt Guess we know where ground zero for the next pandemic is likely to be.

MakeIt Did someone say they are antiquated..?

MakeIt he’s damn salary should be a aberration GoldmanSachs

MakeIt His generation of business execs don't want things to change

MakeIt Do you think this is what people really need right now?

MakeIt It would be when you can’t figure out how to use Zoom

MakeIt Goldman Sachs CEO knows if people work from home, all that over-leveraged commercial real estate they’re heavily invested in becomes worthless with enormous loans that are likely to default.

MakeIt I work from home and love it, but having worked in that industry, I know it helps, A LOT,to see and be seen.... just saying... don’t shot me... I work from home now.

MakeIt Old school 100%

MakeIt We’ll see

MakeIt Bullshit

MakeIt Solomon is an idiot.

MakeIt Old school people would. I used to work at a company that had flex hours and my boss would want me in at 8am promptly, not 8:05, and I'm forced to take a 1 hour lunch and should work extra half hour at the office to show my dedication. Needless to say, we didn't get along.

MakeIt Boom. Errrr.

MakeIt WFH is cool in the short term sucks in the long term

MakeIt Cool thing is people can decide where they work and do it in a company that promotes remote work. byebye

MakeIt Billionaires shouldn’t throw aberration stones. . .

MakeIt

MakeIt Because his commercial real estate value is plummeting.

MakeIt The music and movie industries fought against streaming and look where we are now.

MakeIt Goldman Sucks.

MakeIt Love the CEO of a big bank trying to spin 'obsessively monitoring employee behavior' by calling it 'personal connectivity.'

MakeIt I call him a Jerk.

MakeIt Most of the CEO's are narcissist sociopaths and working from home kills their control

MakeIt Sounds like he is short $BTC at $4000 since March

MakeIt Because it screws up commercial real estate?

MakeIt Where he can't lord over you.
