Gmail is rolling out a bold new look that clears much of the clutter from the webmail interface.
The new look started rolling out in February and Google is now starting to switch users to the revamped interface by default, meaning you’ll have to revert to the classic Gmail view in settings if you don’t like the new look. Although you might as well get used to it, as one day it will simply become the default.
The biggest change with the new Gmail is that the other related Google services – such as Chat, Spaces and Meet – are moved to a rail on the left-hand side of the screen, instead of having little panes for them in the mail window. It gives Gmail a less cluttered look, while still keeping those other services close at hand if you need them.Personally, I think the new look is a big improvement on a Gmail interface that was fussy and tired.
