I’m like, ‘Stop doing this, Dad. Whatever this is, stop,’” he said before explaining the backstory behind his dad’s strange confession. “There’s this. McConaughey is on the cover. So he goes, ‘No, no, no, I have the University of Texas magazine next to my bed.’”
Fortunately, McConaughey was as enthusiastic about the magazine. “Matthew goes, ‘That is my favorite photo shoot I have ever done in my whole life, lemme tell you,' and he grabs him by the shoulder, and they become best friends,” Powell said.
