Jeffrey Epstein confidante Ghislaine Maxwell is set to appear in court via video link on Tuesday for a bail hearing that will determine whether or not she will remain in prison while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking minors.
Maxwell was arrested on July 2 and charged with assisting sex offender Epstein’s abuse of underage girls as young as 14 between 1994 and 1997, helping to recruit, groom and abuse them while she was in a relationship with him.Maxwell’s lawyers deny that she is a flight risk and propose that, under bail conditions, she would give up her U.K., U.S. and French passports and remain in a New York property with an electronic tag.
