Gerrit Cole, son Caden share heartwarming moment during Yankees ace's 2024 debut

Caden, the 3-year-old son of the Yankees ace, was on hand for his dad’s big day on Wednesday night when the Prime Video cameras caught Cole having a moment with his son, who was seated near the home dugout.

The heartwarming video showed Cole peering out of the home dugout before a smile came across his face as he looked to the stands. The camera then cut to Caden — seated with his mom, Amy — standing up from his seat and waving toward his father with a smile on Caden’s face.Cole appeared in his first start in 266 days on Wednesday night in the Bronx, throwing four-plus innings against the Orioles, giving up two runs on three hits and striking out five.

The last time Cole had been on the hill in a Yankees uniform came back on Sept. 27 of last year against the Blue Jays. It was Cole’s first rehab start and the major leaguer’s first time back in the minors since 2016, coincidentally the same year that he married his wife Amy.
