I respect that this is the opinion of some German filmmakers, but did no one note the irony of an article calling another country’s cinema risk-averse appearing in Variety, of all places? The trade pub for a Hwd whose defining characteristic is risk-aversion?

If this article were a book, you could hollow it out and put your gun in it knowing it would be safe on the shelf forever
