“Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty” features some of country’s biggest stars.

Petty Country ,” a new 20-track album celebrating the songs of Tom Petty , features some of the biggest names in country music. Luke Combs covers “Runnin' Down a Dream,” and Chris Stapleton leads off the album with “ I Should Have Known It .” George Strait closes out “ Petty Country ” with a live version of “ You Wreck Me .” Strait has been playing the song, originally on Petty’s 1994 solo album “ Wildflowers ,” in concert at least since 2014. Selena’s “Amor Prohbido” gets a belated vinyl release Other Texas country stars who appear on “Petty Country” are Willie Nelson, who duets with his son Lukas on “Angel Dream ,” Steve Earle , Midland and Eli Young Band . Petty, who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 with his band the Heartbreakers, died in 2016 at age 66. “Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty” is out Friday, June 21.
