JUST IN: George P. Shultz, President Reagan’s longtime secretary of state who spent most of the 1980s trying to improve relations with the Soviet Union and forging a course for peace in the Middle East, has died at age 100, the Hoover Institution says.

As the nation’s chief diplomat, Shultz negotiated the first-ever treaty to reduce the size of the Soviet Union’s ground-based nuclear arsenals. The 1987 accord was a historic attempt to begin to reverse the nuclear arms race.

The US Dollar fiasco is one for the books

We lost another great one. What happen to men like George Shultz? Being part of the Secret Service Detail I got to see him up close and personal. He was a great man when America was Great. Look at the men and women of the GOP dedicated to person not the country. Man!!

morgfair In our cancel culture, it may be hard to see the vast, long-term success of Secretary RIPGeorgePSchultz. Like every human, he made mistakes. But he was a statesman, a public servant (65 years), an intellectual, WWII veteran, a Marine, and genuine American patriot. God Bless!

SEMPER FI Sir! I was on Marine Security Guard duty when Mr. Schultz was Secretary of State. I met him a few times and was surprised he knew my name. Awesome!

Also made fun of gays but we'll leave that part out I guess

'There's no such thing as a finish fight in Washington D.C.'. Schultz said that during the Reagan administration, as if to give democratic leaders a heads-up (that was disregarded), and it ranks with Lincoln's 'all of the people, some of the time' insight into power in America

...and atrocities in Latin America.

The Reality JUST IN: The Republican Party, that spent most of the 1980s trying to improve relations with the Soviet Union and forging a course for peace in the Middle East, has died at age 166, the Hoover Institution says.

Wouldn’t “Dies at 100” have a nicer ring to it

Condolences! Sad.
