George Romero's 'The Amusement Park,' which was never released because it was considered too gruesome, is heading to Shudder

,” the film from the “Night of the Living Dead” helmer that was considered lost until a print surfaced in 2018.

After a print of “Amusement Park” was tracked down by Daniel Kraus, longtime collaborator with director Guillermo del Toro, in 2018, the 1973 film was restored in 4K by IndieCollect in New York City. “Amusement Park” stars Lincoln Maazel as an elderly man who finds himself increasingly disoriented and isolated during a visit to the amusement park. What he initially assumed would be an ordinary day quickly turned into a hellish nightmare filled with roller coasters and chaotic crowds.perhaps Romero’s wildest and most imaginative movie, an allegory about the nightmarish realities of growing older.

Such a disappointment that it’s going to be on Shudder. I just want to buy the damn movie, not a streaming service with shady billing practices and very inconsistent streaming. Been waiting years to see it and this is really frustrating.

GeekShow ZacIsNotFunny Heads up! Not that you needed me to tell you this I'm sure.

I wonder if it was filmed at Kennywood?

pattonoswalt Horror movies about ageing. There's a 12 hour David Lynch movie about a person wandering around the house looking for their glasses, but they're actually wearing them the whole time. It's nightmarish.

pattonoswalt MODUCKULA movie night

pattonoswalt People are more afraid of riding a rollercoaster then they are driving to the amusement park, even though your more likely to die on the drive then the ride.
