High gas prices pump up demand for electric vehiclesOne way to avoid the pain at the pump is to never have to go there. Katie Mitchell bought an electric car in January, and says she's now saving hundreds of dollars a month by charging up instead of filling up. In this case things are working as they should. This is called Economics 101. Who pays that electric bill? There are no free rides I am in the fifth year doing that - my price to charge (at home) is $1.60 for the equivalent of a gallon of gas. Plus, I work from home for years already - no need to waste gas (and time) commuting!

State of Alabama shuts down 89 octane gas sales at Fairhope Walmart gas stationThe Alabama Department of Agriculture has shut down sales of gas a Fairhope gas station. According to the report for the State Department of Agriculture, a customer at the Murphy USA in Fairhope complained that the 89 Octane gasoline was contaminated. An inspector responded on April 4th and took a sample and submitted it to a lab for testing. The sample taken from the pump failed the state laboratory test after water was found inside the sample. A stop sale order was issued on April 14th.
