The judge allowed Dennis to remain free until his April 13 sentencing. It was unclear Friday how much time he faces.U.S. District Judge James Boasberg found Dennis guilty of two counts of assaulting, resisting or impeding officers; two counts related to engaging in violence at the Capitol; one count of civil disorder; and one count of entering restricted grounds, court records show.

“No police officer was injured by Mr. Dennis,” he said in a pretrial filing. “In contrast, Mr. Dennis was severely injured by police officers. He was unable to move any part of his body while numerous police officers continued to pin him to the ground and yelled in his ear.” Orenberg said in court documents his client believed the Capitol grounds were open to the public that day like other parts of the city.“Mr. Dennis expected the same peaceful rally to be carried on at the Capitol after the speech, but what he saw instead were officers pushing and hitting innocent citizens invited to peacefully have their voices heard,” he wrote.

Kevin McCarthy prepared to release all Capitol footage of Jan. 6 protestHouse Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Thursday he is willing to make public unreleased security footage from the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Share it all, 'Lest we forget.'🎗 I am of the opinion that the actual and complete footage will blow up the contrived, and creative, story the MSM has been pushing on behalf of the Regressive factions in Congress. 💥 I think JAN 6th should be referred to as OPERATION SELFIE.🤳
