As two of Galvan’s cofounders, Katherine Holmgren and Carolyn Franks, hail from the art world, decorative and fine arts run deep in the London-based label’s history. So Monday night, they teamed up with Christie’s and Brazilian design dealer Ulysses de Santi for a cocktail party in Beverly Hills.
Hosted at the auction house’s Los Angeles outpost, the event featured an assortment of high-design furniture, curated by De Santi, and a display of Galvan dresses both on racks on the bodies of guests in attendance—like Elizabeth Chambers, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Elisa Sednaoui, Erin Foster, and Tania Fares. Guests sipped a tequila cocktail dubbed “Studio 55” as they browsed the pretty“I love the Galvan girls.
“I think, [more than ever,] we’re having a real moment in L.A. when it comes to fashion and design merging. I was at LACMA yesterday, and I think tonight is the perfect example,” said Chambers. She might be right—on the heels of a Manhattan store opening, a Galvan boutique will soon land on the West Coast.
