G7 nations pledge to spend $4.5 billion to address a global food crisis fueled by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Of the total committed by the G-7, the U.S. will commit $2.76 billion, which will come from the Ukraine aid package passed by Congress earlier this year, a senior U.S. administration official said. The funding will support efforts in more than 47 countries and regional organizations.

"We, the leaders of the G-7, will spare no effort to increase global food and nutrition security and to protect the most vulnerable, whom the food crisis threatens to hit the hardest," the leaders said in a statement Tuesday. That has led to a surge in prices for those commodities, putting them out of reach for many lower-income countries. The U.S. Agency for International Development750,000 people are at immediate risk of starvation around the world as a result of the war in Ukraine.

The Guardian has the answer: Recycle your pee! EU WINS!

Look at the scoundrel's hypocrisy. $4.5 billion to 'address a global food crisis.' Meanwhile, they handed over more than 50 billion dollars thrown in the trash to the Nazis in Ukraine. Of these 50 billion, 80% are already in tax havens on account of the bandit.

Wasn't it just a few weeks back that elonmusk was contemplating what $6 Billion would do? Something about whether it would help and if so saying he would foot the bill? Maybe a match here would help along with real management and blockchain. Bitcoin.

Birmingham public libraries fall $4 million short in mayor’s proposed budgetFriends of the library fear that the allocation now proposed in Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin’s 2023 budget could eventually erode additional services in a system that has already closed one library and has others running on limited hours. Libraries serve no purpose anymore. What are all those save fetuses going to read? I would be surprised if anyone left in Birmingham can read.........that's why Woodfin de-funded it, he knows it too.
