From shooting to standoff to possible meth lab: Indy man faces attempted murder charges

Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana allows Indianapolis residents to share anonymous tips with law enforcement.devolved into a chaotic scene near a warehouse structure and suspected meth lab on the east side of Indianapolis. A man police arrested in connection with the shooting is now facing several charges that involve attempted murder during a standoff with Indianapolis police, according to court documents.

Indianapolis police arrived at the building last Wednesday and stayed well into Thursday morning. The investigation and police presence shut down roads on the city's east side. Officers were drawn to the area after a person was shot at East 21st Street and Arlington Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

At least three bullets hit an armored SWAT vehicle, called a BearCat, that was parked in front of the building, according to the affidavit. Officers were inside the vehicle when the bullets hit the turret and windshield. Police also learned Delatorre had a gas can and a barrel with a spark plug on it, which a witness later told police he was calling a"bomb."

"Out of concern those individuals were injured, officers entered the building," according to a news release from IMPD.
