While the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted millions of jobs and most businesses, many workers kept their jobs and their salaries—andMedian pay changed by 5% or less either way at about a third of S&P 500 companies. It rose by more than 5% at 184 companies, and fell by more than 5% at 125.
Those are among the revelations from a Wall Street Journal analysis of annual disclosures by 492 companies using data provided by MyLogIQ. Nearly 140 companies in the S&P 500—including Netflix Inc. and railroad CSX Corp. —said their median worker was paid at least $100,000 last year. Four dozen, including Starbucks Corp. and Amazon.com Inc., said their median worker made less than $30,000 last year. The wages from those four companies were little changed from 2019.and rising wages in many areas, particularly for low-wage front-line workers.

Many Amazon and Starbucks workers are part time versus majority of Netflix are full time. That could skew per worker salary and resultant median worker salary figures.

Work for a different company. No one puts a ultimatum on you to work somewhere. I quit a lot of jobs that I didn’t enjoy. Started my own small business. Just saying.

Do the tech companies & others just include Employees or all workers - ie the many lower paid workers hired through subcontractors? It is important to know who is counted & how this varies across industry & corporation. (Yes, there are major differences by industry)
Companies should also include the casual labor or 'independent contractors' they use in making these reports.
The exploitation of the American worker has created a class society, the $15.00 hr. minimum wage is being offered by some employers as incentive to healing the nation, over all its a bully approach, do it or else (repubs) took da unemployment, now go to work. Exploitation!

Articles like this just feed people’s need to hate on employers. I dislike mega corporations like many others, but the median jobs at these companies look very different and warrant different pay.
I too would like to make 100k $ making coffees and moving boxes!
And in other news, jobs requiring little training pay much less than those requiring higher education and advanced cognitive skills.
