Freddie Mercury tribute, a pumpkin festival and 10 more Houston area events

Sept. 25The remaining members of Texas blues band ZZ Top will perform with special guests Jeff Beck and Ann Wilson at 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Tickets start at $30.

ZZ Top is out and about this summer on its Raw Whisky Tour, even though its bassist Dusty Hill died last year at age 72. Fellow bandmates Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard continue the unique band’s sound with a little help from Beck and Wilson. The band has a new album “Raw” out this year that was recorded live at Gruene Hall in 2019 as the band was participating in a Netflix documentary called “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas.

Members of the guild will explain how they support the museum and will give away prizes and refreshments. Admission is free but online registration is required.

The event includes discussion, reading aloud and an activity related to the book the club reads. Guests are asked to arrive 10 minutes before the event’s starting time and entry won’t be granted five minutes after it starts.
