Astros fans will have to go the streaming route to watch Friday's series opener against the Angels. The game will air exclusively on Apple TV+.Another Astros homestand brings another Friday night with fans having to change their viewing routine.
Friday's Astros-Angels series opener will be the fourth Houston game this season that will stream exclusively on Apple TV+ instead of airing on AT&T SportsNet Southwest, the team's normal cable television home. The Astros' first three Friday night Apple TV+ games were of the boom-or-bust variety offensively. Houston scored 13 runs in victories April 8 and June 17 against the Angels and White Sox, respectively, while getting shut out May 20 against the Rangers.
Announcers for Friday's game will be play-by-play man Stephen Nelson, analysts Hunter Pence — a former Astros All-Star outfielder — and Katie Nolan and sideline reporter Heidi Watney. Game coverage will include pregame and postgame shows with host Lauren Gardner and analyst Anthony Recker. The Apple TV+ games continue to be free to watch, for the time being.
Fans can stream the game for free with Internet access and the Apple TV app, which is available on Apple devices and also on certain non-Apple devices such as
