PARIS - A French sporting goods chain pulled a hijab for women joggers from its shelves after it came under fire from politicians and on social media.
After days of acrimonious public debate and virulent criticism on social media, the sports retailer said in a statement late on Tuesday it had suspended the sale of the item in France over concerns about the safety of its staff, which it said had been insulted and threatened on social media. In recent days, politicians from the right and left sharply criticized Decathlon for selling the sports hijab.

Everybody has a right to wear or not wear anything. If you wish to wear the panties on your head fine (just dont have a douche bag sticking out). This Hijab thing has gone too far as an Islamic injunction. It was not meant to be this hideous. So yay put a stop to this nonsense!
Very strange indeed. On one hand the hijab is a symbol of female oppresion. The other hand banning the hijab is oppression.
Or maybe they retaliate that in Saudi or other Muslim countries women are forced to wear it, even if refused.
