I've handled many, many snakes over the years. You've just got to support the animal in the right way and treat it in the right way.
That was only the once. I mean, it was a pair of cygnets [young swans] that had gone out to a small patch of water and just froze to the ice. I've done ice training many times, and I took all precautions. You know, it had to be done. There was no way I was going to let these animals die frozen to the ice. It was a matter of need. I was only out there for a matter of 20 minutes and I'd freed both.I don't get scared with an animal. I think it's the adrenaline that kicks in.
