Football coach and former player Frank de Boer has been criticized for calling equal pay at international level a"ridiculous" idea.
De Boer, who played over 100 times for the Netherlands in the 1990s and early 2000s, took charge of Atlanta United last year, helping the side to win its first MLS Cup. "It's the same like tennis," De Boer said in an interview with The Guardian."If there are watching, for the World Cup final, 500 million people or something like that, and 100 million for a women's final, that's a difference. So it's not the same.

You can only pay USWST if they generate income. NBA, MBL,NFL pay their players based on league income, not championships. WNBA players earn less than NBA, less income and it is subside by the leaque. You can't pay $50,000/year if your income in $40,000

At the club level is no brainer, clubs r businesses ,but at national team level, it should be equal pay. FIFA is a non-profit organization they claim, so the money is for developing the game. Equal pay will help develop the women game. So FIFA pays the ladies
If the goal is equal pay, why even have women's sports and men's sports. Just make them all inclusive sports and let the individual performance and the market forces sort them out.

Why just women? Why not equal pay for equal work in all levels of a sports league ? So players in the D league or the Minors should have equal pay as the A listers - The Liberals have gone nuts and now will come gunning for Frank because of this. Expecting a forced apology soon.
Do male models earn the same as women super models? Maybe there is a bigger audience for women models. Why no male on the cover of Sports Illustrated? Maybe sales would plummet.
If sport was a salaried position then they should get the same pay for the same job but it isn’t. Sport is a commission based job, similar to sales, were you get paid on the money you bring into the business not for just turning up each day.
