Jara wants another crack at a successful MLS season after both he and the club fell short of expectations in 2021.
The lack of production meant Jara, FCD’s highest-paid player, found himself on the bench during a breakout season for teenage forward Ricardo Pepi. It was the FCD homegrown who led the team in scoring with 13 goals in 31 matches, earning an offseason move to Augbsurg that netted a record profit for FCD.
While some fans have been frustrated by Jara’s performances, nearly every coach and teammate have praised his attitude.
The manager said he felt too little emphasis sometimes is put on just how much a substitute can influence a game, and he wants FCD to have more depth coming off the bench this season than what he saw on film in 2021.
