"Slavery reparations, in my opinion, are the extraction of money from people who were never slave owners and given to people who were never slaves," Elder said, responding to Booker's Senate plans to form a reparation exploratory committee. "It was just too long ago. Slavery ended 150 years ago." Anyone that suffered from slavery are not alive today, only the people that benefited from it today. 3% of people at that time ,ever owned slaves in United States. Even Blacks in United States during that era, owned slaves. It was wrong & 600,000 Americans died in civil war.
