In a perfect world, Clemson would be able to get after Burrow with four or maybe five rushers. More realistically, the Tigers will need to be imaginative and aggressive to throw a wrench into an LSU offense that has played at an absurdly high level all season. Will Clemson need to bring extra pressure? Sure. Will that open up passing lanes for Burrow and LSU? Yeah, it will. But Clemson isn't Oklahoma, which lost every one-on-one matchup downfield against LSU's receiver corps.
Still, Clemson ranks 12th nationally in sacks while LSU is giving up more than two sacks per game, making the battle between the pass rush and pass protection one of the game's biggest keys. In LSU's defense, Burrow is often at his best when rolling out of the pocket and delivering downfield on the run. LSU will be good shape if the offensive line can prevent Clemson from harassing Burrow without bringing extra pressure.LSU's run defense is giving up 4.
