Orange Fire Department crews arrived to find heavy flames and smoke coming from a one-story commercial building, with a fire burning in a storage area.“My reaction was, lets back up, lets get out of here, because it was kind of intimidating…The smoke was at least 200 feet up, the flames were reaching high too, it was intense,” said witness Matthew Wilds, who caught footage of the explosion on his cell phone.
At least one storage area and two vehicles were destroyed in the blaze, the fire captain said. No surrounding businesses were damaged. Although the bulk of the fire was brought under control before 4:30 a.m., crews remained on scene for several more hours monitoring for hot spots.
