Founder of Planet Fitness Claims Company Has Been Destroyed

Wed, April 10th 2024 at 1:09 PMUNDATED - The founder of Planet Fitness said the company has been "pretty much destroyed" in a recent interview with controversial right-wing X user Libs of TikTok.in the 15-minute interview, founder Michael Grondahl outlined an alleged history of widespread abuses at the company and alleged that it misrepresented financial information.

According to the outlet, Grondahl said he didn't stand behind the policies or the company's recent response to them.who complained about a transgender woman inside the women's locker room. That decision has led some to call for a boycott of the gym. Grondahl sold Planet Fitness to a private equity back in November of 2012. Per Benzinga, he remained CEO until he was ousted after reporting that the chief administrative officer and general counsel hired by the firm had been allegedly found guilty of several charges and had allegedly abused minors on several occasions.Grondahl alleged that abuses took place at the company following its purchase by the firm.

According to Benzinga, Planet Fitness has 18.7 million members across its 2,575 gym locations around the world. Per the outlet, to make a dent in the company's bottom line, it would likely require tens of thousands of people cancelling their memberships.rom January of 2023, the outlet wrote that Planet Fitness does not allow cancellations to be completed online, over the phone, via email or through an app.
