Carolyn Rodriguez, a Fort Worth-based “copwatcher” was injured during arrest while filming officers investigating drunk driving crash.
As Rodriguez gets closer to the two officers, a third steps out from the cruiser and approaches her. In the body camera footage, the officer calls Rodriguez by her first name, and in the livestream video, Rodriguez can be heard calling the officer by his last name. In the Tuesday video, Rodriguez said she had an interaction with the officer several months prior.
Rodriguez can be seen taking a step forward as the officer puts his hands on her wrists. He tells her to stop resisting before grabbing her and throwing her to the ground. She is lying facedown as the officer tells her again to stop resisting as he moves to secure her in handcuffs.Both of Rodriguez’s attorneys said she was knocked unconscious when she was thrown to the ground. A sound similar to snoring can be heard as the officer handcuffs her.
