Franklin County Court of Common Pleas records say 25-year-old Marcus Williamson was indicted on 25 charges, including 18 counts of robbery.COLUMBUS, Ohio — A former Ohio State football player suspected in multiple bank robberies was indicted on more than two dozen charges on Thursday.was indicted on 25 charges, including 18 counts of robbery. The indictment says the alleged crimes started in March and ended in April.

On April 24, Williamson allegedly entered the First Merchant's Bank on North High Street. Williamson approached the teller and gave them a note saying he was demanding money and he was armed with a gun, documents say. The teller complied and gave Williamson an unspecified amount of cash. While the redacted indictment does not say specifically where the robberies happened, a detective previously testified that Williamson was a suspect in nine bank robberies across central Ohio.

The detective testified that Williamson had a pattern — he would drive the same Jeep, wearing latex gloves and a mask and he would hand the teller a note saying he had a gun and he was demanding money. He testified that the police department had a search warrant for Williamson's Jeep. Authorities placed a GPS tracking device on it when police say they watched him walk out of the First Merchant's Bank with cash. Williamson was taken into custody moments later.

A judge previously set his bond at $50,000.
