'The blame needs to be placed on the father,' Thomas Homan said. 'Her father came to this country illegally,

"Immigration enforcement is always controversial and emotional, but you know what? The blame needs to be placed on the father," he said."Her father came to this country illegally, he brought his child here illegally. Whether or not she was born here, he put his family in the position of being here illegally in violation of our laws," the former ICE official continued. In the emotional clip, the young girl can be seen with tears in her eyes, crying for her father to be freed.

A screenshot from Fox News shows 11-year-old Magdalena Gomez Gregorio crying after her father was arrested by ICE agents in a sweeping raid that led to 680 detentions in Mississippi. Some of the children were taken to a local gym, where they were given temporary food and shelter."I understand the law and how everything works and how everything has a system.

"Their mom's been here for 15 years and she has no record," Christina Peralta told the local news station, about a detained parent of her godchildren."A lot of people here have no record they've been here for 10-12 years." Critics of the Trump administration's hardline immigration policies also slammed ICE and the president for carrying out the large scale raid just days after a mass shooting in El Paso left 22 dead. Investigators believe that attack was a racially motivated hate crime specifically targeting Hispanic immigrants.

Only days after a massacre committed with the express purpose of targeting immigrants, Trump conducted the largest raid of his presidency. 680 human beings arrested, including the mother of a 13-year-old, who waved goodbye as she was taken from him. The cruelty knows no bounds.

We have become a nation of practically zero empathy. We should just remove the Statue of Liberty and return her to France.

Damn! He is totally correct! Keep families together, deport the whole family!

So now children must pay for their parents faults.. compassion flys over the head of acting director.. USA..so cold and lacking empathy..

Sorry, I am going to disagree with this. Fact is: they have released some and let them reunite with their families. It sounds like they are picking people up before knowing whether or not they should. It’s pick them up...and sort it out later. Complete nonsense!

Well, he’s right

It's true! I ache for her, but her parents did this to their children. You cannot expect to live in a country illegally without consequence. No other country would tolerate this. Bless this little girl.

A terrible shame but, he is right. Decisions have consequences.

All families came to this country illegally. She is only different because she is brown.

Could be the criminal enterprise that hired them? What is their response? It’s rampant. Such total hypocrisy

These Ellis Island documents reveal a surprising truth about Donald Trump&39;s immigrant mother via Splinter_news

HaycoxJeremy Sad but true

Wow!!! Somebody gets it!!

And the billionaire who hired him?

He would be correct.

Did her father ever file immigration paperwork to become a US citizen? There are plenty of children with legal parents that are in prison and those children go into foster care.

Take your kid to commit a crime day, then all goes sour and isn’t the dads fault?

Did they arrest the owner of the plant that hired them? No work-They won’t come. Comprehensive immigration work permits?

The ice director evidently is missing a heart. Scary people.

TruthMatters

'Removable'... yet they let 300 go, because they were a) documented immigrants, or b) US citizens. They rounded up everyone who was brown, without regard to their status.

True. This little girl has been exploited by every major left-wing outlet. Very disgusting. I feel bad for her. Irresponsible parenting creates these problems for kids, yet leftists place all the blame on government....sad scapegoating.

Give me a break! Newsweek is weak and stupid. Report real news!

Lol ice is just another form of white supremacy and probably a lover of nazis cause u can make a judgement call especially when it come to find proper place 4 children cause the reason they didn’t deport the kids is cause a lot if not all r Americans lol

Duhhhh... how many Americans children cry be ause they broke the law and now are incarcerated? Should illegal immigrants be shown favoritism and special privilege?

Deplorable

Bad parenting.

Bill Clinton

And something like 90% of them were released. Id wager if we track down this little lady she is back with her parents

Homan is right! And, everyone who is not a liberal moron realized that.

I couldn’t agree more with the former acting director!

ICE is right.. Her dad broke the law..was here illegally

This is the defence that those supporting these hateful actions utilize, so that they can sleep at night. Heartlessness is what it is.

Newsweek acts like this is a controversial statement

Well, when anyone breaks the law, either legal or illegal citizenship status, they are separated from their parents for a time. This article is nothing but propaganda

No different than the child of an American citizen going to jail for breaking the law. Tears are common place for the children of criminals.

Exactly.

He's right.

True

The director tells himself that to assuage his own guilt. We welcomed these ppl for years. Allowed them to care for our children, farm, process our food. Now we put them in jail and orphan their children.

So, let her starve or beg for food ? Classic conservative disdain for brown children.

For a country with so much we give so little . God would be ashamed of us :(

What you say when you have lost any level level of human can compassion

These people are fleeing crime and famine. We’d do the same for our kids

Nothing Christian about this. We are a nation of moral cowards.

Sweet Christ Jesus help US🙏❤🙏❤🙏

He's right.

So gun deaths are parents‘ fault?

Hey ICE and realDonaldTrump. Now that you've gathered up all these bad bad people, who is going to take care of their kids. I bet you still don't have any type of tracking data base of family members in use.

So intentionally make these children orphans is her fault.

stillirise1963 This is like so unbelievably cruel and to think this is happening in the state that I was born in raised in and got the crap out of because of the child abuse that is so prevalent and that region.

Staged

Homan played a key role in family separations He hired a former employee of CIS, a hate group that circulated white nationalist & anti-Semitic content in its weekly newsletter & published reports that aimed to criminalize immigrant communities TrumpsICE

Sorry, but I have to admit identity theft and using false SSN’s is a crime. My heart goes out to the workers but we have immigration laws.

This cruel & thoughtless remarks are why this Fucker is the FORMER director of ICE!! We need international intervention from the United Nations to end these crimes against humanity taking place at the border!!

It is the parents fault for breaking the law and putting their children in this situation. You forgot that illegal word again.

Shameful government

Completely on the parents. Criminals. Breaking the law. Consequences for actions. Facts don't give a rats ass about your feelings, or tears, and neither do I.

Absolutely agree. Like any criminal.

Break law -- Get arrested. Cause ---- Effect. Any questions?

*Stephen Miller grabs buttered popcorn.

sunsetmarieD AbolishICE

Not the destabilization amd plundering of Latin American countries by the U.S., he is just an irresponsible parent.

The truth is brutal.

That’s very true

ICE are total monsters

ICE releases hundreds rounded up in Mississippi as children left behindLATEST: Several hundred individuals arrested during an immigration roundup across Mississippi, leaving their children without parents in some cases, have been released, ICE spokesman says. How many of the 680 were trafficking children to make them sex slaves? I think we need to take time to figure that out. Not ONE should be returned until we know I’m so sorry this happened to your network. Dems hate when the law is enforced.

ICE released 300 of the 680 detained in raids at Mississippi food processing plantsU.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 680 people at food processing plants in small towns near Jackson, Mississippi, on Wednesday. That's too bad Curious if the owners of these processing plants faced ramifications for employing undocumented immigrants. Seems like a lot of companies (inc. the Trump Organization) are taking advantage as well. So, in essence, we are all breaking the laws here. Yeah, it's called placation, don't drop your guard.
