'If you had told me on the day that I got my glucose reading of 360 that today I would be in the situation I am in, I would have told you that you were crazy. But I am living proof that these things are possible.'

Following these strategies, the weight started coming off, and I let myself think about what I could do without the extra pounds.. I was a sprinter in those days, competing in the 400 meters, 800 meters, and the mile on the track, along with cross country. I was decent, but not a star.

The summer going into college, I sprained my ankle, and that’s when my running fell off. I’d run occasionally, but by the end of my freshman year, I went from 132 pounds to 160. That gradual gain continued through my adult years until I was over 250 pounds—and my lackadaisical runs here and there did nothing to help.

I decided to give running a try again early on in my weight loss journey in March 2017, and I started on the. This worked for me because I knew I’d find excuses not to go to the gym, and the treadmill was always there, day or night, when I wanted to use it. I used it every night after work. It started with walking, but by April, I was running. My mind was filled with possibilities, and my first true goal that I set was breaking 30 minutes in a 5K.At the time, my weight goal was 225 pounds, but it was falling off faster than expected
