The man, who was toting a .25 caliber handgun loaded with seven bullets, told agents he had forgotten the gun was in his luggage. Friday’s seizure marks the eighth such confiscation of a firearm by airport authorities in 2023.

And seriously - are they confiscating them from terrorists? Or from Joe Blow, who forgot that it was in the carryon that they've been dragging for a business trip?

Wow. I had a friend who lost multiple multitools to the thieves. He used them at work, always had them, never really thought about them. And lots of folks who carry every day forget. It's just another thing, like the fire extinguisher, that is there in their lives.

What happened to cause mainstream media to focus on this obsessively ? I don't recall much reporting on it in past years......
