For its part, Ford is not saying if or when it will again communicate with its dealers about the DPS6 transmission repairs and extending warranties. The cars can lose acceleration when the transmission – which operates to the driver like an automatic but is internally more like a manual – slips out of gear. Ford chose the transmission to improve fuel economy as the nation emerged from the Great Recession and federal fuel mileage standards rose.
I bought a Ford Exployer and only had it for 1 year and the Transmission went out! It cost me 1500 to fix that problem. Not long after the Transmission went out there was another issue. I spent all I had to buy this vehicle with the hope of it being dependable.
Ford My 2015 Focus has its own issues and is pushing me more and more towards Toyota or Honda. My confidence in Ford products has definitely been shaken.
