Ford says that a few of the hood scoops were installed incorrectly by their dealers

Ford has issued a recall for the dealer-installed hood scoop on the Bronco Sport due to the possibility of it detaching while driving. The exact cause of the detachment is under investigation, but Ford suspects issues with adhesive and potential installation errors. Thankfully, there haven't been any reports of injuries or accidents caused by detached hood scoops. Hood scoops are explicitly designed to catch the wind, so it must be difficult to keep them stuck on a vehicle.

Since then, the automaker has become aware of a total of 24 instances of loose or detached hood scoops in North America. Fortunately, it is not yet aware of any reports of injuries or accidents that have resulted from this problem. The problem does appear to be limited to the Bronco Sport. When Ford looked at other models with similar accessories, it found no evidence of a detachment trend.
