Two C-sections ago, in the early 2000s, I owned a pair of Frankie B low-rise jeans that I bought at a Third Avenue store called, which played loud music and occupied three storefronts. I paired those skintight jeans with a long C & C California tee shirt so that people couldn’t see my butt. Standing up was a terrifying adventure. I would grab my waistband and tee shirt together in the hope of sparing my fellow New Yorkers. The whole thing was very stressful.
I wasn’t the only one who struggled. I remember being at a baby birthday party in 2005, and the elegant mother of the baby in question leaned over her child and displayed her red lacy thong. I wanted to say something to the well-heeled mother, but I didn’t want to embarrass her. It was a decade of inadvertent thong-flashing.

An example of a trend that shouldn't be one, or why trends in fashion are just that, 'trendy'. And, don't have to be followed.
Once you go mid-rise, you never go back. Late 90s/early 2000s fashion was awful in so many ways.
Please, please say no. So uncomfortable and really not pretty.
