Del Mar City Councilmember Terry Gaasterland joined a contingent of small-city board members who walked out of SANDAG meeting Jan. 13

Following a contentious San Diego Association of Governments meeting earlier this month, Del Mar City Council members asked the city attorney during a meeting Monday to review the regional planning agency’s weighted voting process.

The weighted vote came into play during a meeting Jan. 13, when county Supervisor Nora Vargas and San Diego City Council President Sean Elo-Rivera were elected chair and vice chair of SANDAG, respectively.Del Mar City Councilmember Terry Gaasterland joined a contingent of small-city board members who walked out of the meeting in protest as the board voted on whether to appoint Gaasterland second vice chair.

During the council meeting Monday, Gaasterland said she wanted to question whether AB 805 actually does allow the weighted vote to overrule the simple majority vote. The council asked the city attorney to look into that and other questions related to AB 805, but it’s unclear what could come of it. Del Mar City Councilmember Dwight Worden said he supported the old SANDAG voting structure, but “like it or not, it’s a dead issue.”

M&M’s replaces cartoon ‘spokescandies’ with Maya Rudolph following ‘woke’ backlash from Fox NewsAfter controversy following its mascot refresh last year, M&M’s announced Monday it is taking an “indefinite pause” from using its candy-coated mascots, saying the “last thing M&M’s wanted” was to be “polarizing.” I feel bad for any college student or current people that are in advertising or marketing. You literally have to worry about total strangers and not your actual assigned task. Joke or not, the world now is in a bad over sensitive place. Wokeism is cancer. I feel bad for anyone offended by a candy acting as a candy in a candy commercial.

'Rust' will continue production with Alec Baldwin in lead role following his involuntary manslaughter chargesAlec Baldwin and a weapons specialist were charged in the fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. You deserve prison if you're too stupid, lazy or arrogant to check the gun first before you point it at someone and pull the trigger. PERIOD. Someone died, there's no excuse. From prison? Huh? Everyone knows to check the gun and not treat them like toys. Alec Baldwin is getting that Hollywood treatment while normal people would have had the book thrown at them. “Always Treat as if it were loaded”
