Former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn is due to be sentenced next month. But attorneys for Flynn and the DOJ asked to postpone until after the release of the inspector general's Russia report.

Attorneys for the Justice Department and Michael Flynn asked a federal judge Tuesday to postpone next month’s sentencing for the former Trump national security adviser until after the release of a much-anticipated inspector general report about the FBI’s Russia investigation.

Flynn is on track to be sentenced Dec. 18 after pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the United States, though the retired Army general has also hired new lawyers who want the entire case dismissed because of what they say is “egregious government misconduct.”District Judge Emmet Sullivan hasn’t indicated how he will handle Flynn’s shift in defense strategies.

from federal prosecutors and Flynn's attorneys to reshuffle his sentencing schedule in part because of a Justice Department inspector general report that’s slated for release Dec. 9.That inspector general report is expected to criticize Justice Department leaders and low-level FBI officials who worked on the Russia probe that ultimately gave way to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, according to several media reports.

Tuesday’s request from the DOJ and Flynn attorneys cites media reports about the timing of the IG report’s release while asking Sullivan for a delay to several fast-approaching deadlines tied to the sentencing, including a DOJ supplemental memo that’s due Monday and one from Flynn with a Dec. 10 deadline.

This traitor better face many years in prison. Or be hanged. Period.

Disgusting what democrats did to this guy

Geez, this is taking forever!

Just give the 5 years and let the appeal begin.

Irrelevant to his admission of guilt. It’s not like you can introduce new evidence when defendant pled guilty. He has to accept the punishment for the crimes he admitted to.

I have a speeding ticket due before Christmas, if Flynn gets a white privileged extension I should get one too.

I would say no deal, if I was the Judge. They are going to try and influence the Judge Just say mo.

Flynn is doing everything he can to wiggle out of his situation. Keep up the delays by all means until DT is voted out of office so there can be no pardon, please!

ENOUGH DELAYS! Flynn needs to be behind bars. He’s a sad little man with a chip on his shoulder who decided to get rich, and went dirty to do it. He betrayed the service and his country. Zero sympathy.

Flynn’s case will be thrown out. The FBI framed him and everyone knows it.

If I get a ticket for speeding I’m going to court to ask for a delay in paying until the weather report comes out.

This man has evaded more justice than Don Jr. after.. you know what, let’s just hope he actually goes to jail at this point🤦🏻‍♂️

Why isn’t Flynn in prison yet? Flynn is a traitor.

Throw his ass in jail already!

Shouldn't happened, he had 3years without Sentencing

Don’t see the sentencing’s connection to the IG report. Am I missing something? Talking points from a report versus a guilty verdict?

Just sentence him already. He has gotten enough delays.

Nope. Flynn pled guilty.

No. Lock him up.

Nothing fishy about that. 🤨🙄

. By the time Flynn is finally sentenced, he'll be eligible for Social Security.
