The Speeder is a futuristic-looking flying motorcycle created by Ventura, Calif.-based. Though some elements are still in development, the vertical take-off-and-landing aircraft will have jet turbine engines that provide vertical thrust. Anything that flies needs a *pilot*, with all the training and oversight that comes with, not a driver. SF movies that show orderly 3D traffic patterns of flying cars, are nothing more than wishful thinking. We're able to (mostly) operate on the ground, but that's all.
