Florida State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis Demands NHTSA Provide Data on Fire Risks of Electric Vehicles

Last week, electric vehicles were seenin Florida after becoming waterlogged during Hurricane Ian, giving firefighters “a new challenge” they “haven’t faced before,” Patronis said.

The State Fire Marshal went on to say that he was later “informed by the fire department that the vehicle, once again reignited when it was loaded onto the tow truck.” Therefore, Patronis is requesting that the NHTSA provide him with the following information no later than October 14: Do the personal protective equipment , including the gas masks utilized by fire rescue teams, effectively protect first responders from poisonous gases?

In the Winter in my area they put salt down on the roads when it snows or ices to melt it will that affect an electric car's battery?

Don’t forget about the poisoned water going down the drain putting the electric car fire out.

The risk? Out of control fire caustic gasses and explosion. Serious toxic waste/ clean up.

Ban them in all coastal cities. Lol.
