A brawl that broke out at a Florida high school Monday was the catalyst for an off-campus shooting later that day, police told The National Desk .by NBC 6 South Florida shows students grabbing one another by the hair and furiously raining blows on one another. Bystanders can also be seen trying to separate those involved. A student later told the outlet the fight started due to “some beef, some smack talk.
The Miami Gardens Police Department told TND the fight led a parent to visit the house of one of the students to speak with their parent. During that conversation, the adults allegedly began arguing before an unknown person produced a gun and began shooting. Five individuals were injured in the shooting, including three adults and two teenagers, according to police. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported two teenagers to Joe Dimaggio Children’s Hospital and brought the three adults to another local hospital.Each individual was later released from the hospital. Police now say they are investigating a person of interest in the shooting, but have not taken anyone into custody.
