Travis Paul Sterback is charged with trafficking synthetic cannabinoids, known as spice. He is also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, fleeing to elude at high speed and firing a weapon in public. He is being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail. According to the sheriff’s office, the SRSO Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant on Sterback in the 4900 block of Dobson Road to assist the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office with one of its investigations. Authorities said they had received information that he had a “large amounts of spice, marijuana, and THC edibles” in his possession.
When investigators arrived, they learned that Sterback was not at home but was on his way there, they said. Authorities said that when he arrived, he stopped his vehicle in front of the house, fired two shots, then sped off after being ordered to stop. Authorities were able to catch him on Highway 87, the SRCSO said.
Detectives recovered 150 pounds of spice with a street value of $200,000 from the property, authorities said. Deputies also recovered two guns from the vehicle and $3,000 in cash believed to be from criminal activity, the SRCSO said.Most Read
