Flash flooding, 60 mph winds possible during Wednesday storms in central Pa.

Severe storms could bring 60 mph or greater winds and heavy rain to the midstate Wednesday, forecasters said. These storms, which are most likely Wednesday afternoon and evening, could cause flash flooding in some areas, thesaid. Some parts of the midstate could also see damage from the very strong wind gusts.

A hazardous weather outlook was issued Wednesday morning for Elk, Cameron, Clearfield, Cambria, Somerset, Sullivan, Montour, Northumberland, Columbia, Dauphin and York counties. The storms will wrap up before 4 a.m. Thursday, but showers could continue until about 8 a.m., forecasters said. The rest of Thursday is expected to be overcast, with mid 70-degree highs.Early forecasts call for a sunny weekend, with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s. Forecasters said Sunday has a chance of showers and storms in the afternoon and evening.Low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 80%.Partly cloudy, with a low around 61.
