Google is buying Fitbit for $2.1 billion. But djtgallagher explains why the deal is riskier than it looks. WSJWhatsNow

The risk isn’t in the price: $2.1 billion is a pittance for a company now sitting on Silicon Valley’s largest net-cash balance of $121 billion. Nor should it dread resistance from shareholders. Google-parent Alphabet Inc.

is still a controlled company, and Fitbit holders should jump at...

djtgallagher People still use these? Mine's in a drawer somewhere.

djtgallagher Every breath you take Every move you make Every bond you break Every step you take I'll be watching you.

djtgallagher Even MORE INVASIONS into our personal space!!! Google is TRACKING everyone, and spying on everyone! I’m pretty sure Google is literally just the CIA and this is how they get people to “voluntarily” give up our entire lives to them!! It’s so disturbing!

djtgallagher Data mining

djtgallagher Guess I’ll stop wearing my Fitbit

djtgallagher We gotta score there dave....that really hurts

djtgallagher More consolidations.

djtgallagher Why!? Fit bit is kind of stupid not everyone will pay a fortune to own a fitbit when you can use apps on your cell phone. But then again google has enough money to throw away.

djtgallagher Interesting.....

djtgallagher Egh. Google just doesn’t get it. Smh

djtgallagher Hey google before you buy something ask me and I’ll help....FYI no one uses Fitbit....you know who won, Fitbit......

djtgallagher I’m disconnecting my fitbit . I don’t want anything to do with Google I’ll find another fitness tracker. dumpGoogle

djtgallagher Does this mean Pebble is owned by Google now too?

djtgallagher Way too much. I don’t even know anyone who wears a Fitbit anymore.

djtgallagher thank god, i got the apple watch when fitbit started to be weird even back when they came out with the versa.

djtgallagher useless

djtgallagher If I had one would throw in the garbage right now. The data is going to the higher bidder.

djtgallagher Google is already too big. This is unacceptable

djtgallagher Apple has already conquered the smart watch market.

djtgallagher Fitbit essentially threw their original customers, who bought (and love) the Fitbit One, into the bin. Many of us aren't into or can't wear techno-watches on our wrists or can't jog but do want the in-the-pocket tracker. Please Google bring the fitbit One back!!!

djtgallagher Glad I have Apple Watch. Don’t want my data sold.

djtgallagher Google failed with Motorola will probably fail with this as well.

djtgallagher What?
