Bay Area over the weekend and into early next week, and projected rainfall totals for the event keep going up. The system will also kick up winds and push temperatures down into the 60s and 70s, the National Weather Service said.
The window for rain runs from Saturday night into Tuesday, and across this period the weather service is projecting the following, as of Friday morning:1 to 2 inches across the valleys and up to 3 inches in the mountains; Santa Rosa and Napa forecast to record 1 to 1.5 inches.Livermore forecast to receive 0.5 to 1 inch and Concord 1 to 1.5 inches.
"The peak time is going to be Sunday afternoon as we start to see that precipitation take hold," weather service meteorologist Brian Garcia said in a forecast posted onNorthwesterly winds are forecast to develop Saturday afternoon with gusts ranging from 15 to 30 mph, the weather service said. Winds will shift to south to southwestern Saturday night into Sunday morning with wind speeds similar to those on Saturday afternoon.
