First Alert: Calm for now, more rain likely by Friday

A few isolated storms are popping on radar right now... Amanda has an hour-by-hour look ahead to more activity expected during the second half of your Tuesday!MONTGOMERY, Ala. - After some overnight and early morning rain, Tuesday is quickly shaping up to be a drier day than Monday. Of course, that is a pretty low bar to jump... most of our area had between 1 and 3 inches of rain yesterday.

Wednesday and Thursday will feature nicer weather across the board. Both days will see more sun than clouds and warm temperatures... afternoon highs will reach the mid 80s on Wednesday and we will follow that up with an even warmer Thursday as high temperatures soar into the upper 80s to 90 degrees in spots.

The latest model guidance suggests that waves of rain and a few embedded thunderstorms are likely by Friday afternoon, lasting into Friday night and perhaps even Saturday morning.The weekend will not be a complete washout, but some spotty showers could linger into Saturday afternoon and Sunday. We will get more confidence in the timing and coverage of any weekend rain over the next few days, so be sure to check back for updates!
