Final Fantasy XIV's 10th Anniversary, Job Design, Expansions, & Successes: An Interview With Naoki Yoshida

Heading into Final Fantasy 14's tenth anniversary, it's no longer a surprise to see the MMORPG continue to be one of the most popular games in its genre. The development team behind the project - which, lest readers forget, began as an absolute disaster at lauch - has cultivated a reputation for being one of the most trustworthy in the industry.

Job designs continue to exist in unique spaces in the game, despite the number of them piling up over the last decade. How many jobs do you think Final Fantasy XIV can realistically implement in the future? Is there a limit? Naoki Yoshida: Well, we’ll see… That said, the new expansion’s story will be going strong with a brand-new flavor so, for a while after launch, I’m sure our Warriors of Light will simply enjoy the new lands, encounters, and discoveries. Of course, it’s possible that some of the upcoming activities or story scenes may overlap with your guesses, but FFXIV will always be a FINAL FANTASY series title, no matter what.
