The launch of the Legion M Film Scout mobile app comes one year after the company debuted its Film Scout website at the 2019. More than 40,000 votes from Film Scouts last year led to Legion M buying “Memory: The Origins of Alien” by Alexandre O. Philippe. It partnered with Screen Media Films for distribution in October and achieved an 82% critic score and 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
He will identify authors and journalists who control books, articles and life-rights for potential film and television adaptations. Lupo will work alongside agent Liz Parker, who launched the agency’s publishing initiative in 2018. The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Foundation is providing financing for the project, which centers on the life of the tribal leader of the Ojibwe band in Minnesota who was killed in 1868.
“Anton Treuer’s book is a consummate work of scholarship, one that jumped out as being inherently cinematic,” Franzoni said.XYZ Films has elevated three executives to vice president: Pip Ngo becomes VP of Sales & Acquisitions; Maxime Cottray is VP of Financing & Production; and Scott Freije becomes VP of International Sales & Distribution.
