Speaking to CNBC's "Squawk Box Europe" on Tuesday, Vigna said the company would maintain its focus on performance, design and driving experience in its EV range, insisting that "electric cars are not silent."

"We have no doubt, honestly, that we can deliver a unique experience to our client, because we can harness the technology in a unique way. That's what our company has been doing since the beginning."Though typical electric powertrains are largely silent, Ferrari engineers are working on "sound signatures" for its electric vehicles to replicate the iconic roar of the combustion engines that have powered its sports cars since 1947.
