JUST IN: Judge blocks Title 42, the controversial Trump-era pandemic rule allowing US authorities to expel over 1 million migrants who crossed the US-Mexico border

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked Title 42 – a controversial rule that’s allowed US authorities to expel more than 1 million migrants who crossed the US-Mexico border. While the rule was drafted by the Trump administration during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Biden administration has relied heavily on it to manage the increase of migrants at the border.

“With regard to whether defendants could have ‘ramped up vaccinations, outdoor processing, and all other available public health measures,’… the court finds the CDC failed to articulate a satisfactory explanation for why such measures were not feasible,” Sullivan wrote. The judge also concluded that the policy did not rationally serve its purpose, given that Covid-19 was already widespread throughout the United States when the policy was rolled out.

Who declared this controversial?

Bad decision. Will just encourage more economic migrants that want to circumvent legal procedures.

Closed Border Now

What is the point of having immigration laws when those who unlawfully enter our country don’t face any type of penalty by being jailed or deported? We either change our immigration laws or we enforce them, cannot have both when it is convenient or suits our agenda.

Please explain to me why in the past 2 years of full control of Congress and the Presidency that my Democratic Party has not put forth legislation to ameliorate at least SOME of the border issues? Like more immigration judges, more border patrol staff or a more streamlined path.

Some good news. Let's see if it holds and for how long...

So this ruling means the pandemic is over, no argument now to allow student loan forgiveness under pandemic programs.
