Sen. Ron Johnson made no secret of his displeasure with Donald Trump declaring a national emergency to build his border wall, worrying in late January that the president would take the “Emergency Act beyond where it’s ever been.”

Johnson’s pointed defense of the president comes amid a week of growing tension in the Senate Republican caucus about Trump’s plan to shift billions from military construction projects to fund the wall after Congress refused to give him the money. Sen. Pat Roberts told fellow Republicans on Wednesday that he’d received a call from a White House official over the weekend after the retiring GOP senator had expressed indecision on his stance, according to an attendee and a person familiar with the meeting. The Agriculture Committee chairman recounted out loud to his colleagues that he needs to weigh multiple factors as he assesses his vote, including whether the president will sign agriculture legislation from his committee.

“The president is paying close attention,” said Sen. John Cornyn , who backs the president. “He wants Republicans to support his position, and clearly some Republicans have some problems with it.”

SEN.RON JOHNSON WANNA KEEP HIS JOB. HE'S AFRAID TRUMP CAMPAIGN AGAINST HIM AT RE-ELECTION TIME SUCH F••KIN COWARDS.

And chuckschumer laughs hysterically...

Just once the HouseGOP needs to do the right thing for the country...and a wall is not the best option.

Why don’t they ask their constituents what they want?

The current GOP has consistently demonstrated Party before Nation. No wall, no emergency, no conscience, no backbone, no ethics, no integrity. That sure is one Grand Ol’ Party alright!

Not wanting to supporting the National Emergency, in the minds of most Republicans, probably has far more to do with being afraid this vote will come back to bite them than that they'd be seen as supporting Nancy Pelosi.

Backbone - find yours GOP! Stand up to the lying S.O.B.

Offerings of verbal, koolaid must be given to the cult. Free will tries to claw its way out when their cult kings idiocy doesn't fill their ears 24/7? He fears mass reality setting in. He's surrounded by corrupt associates. Protected by some of old school CultGOPs oldest reps.

If treason is ok with a political party, then being involved with that political party should be a crime. Surprised whole clan hasn’t fled to Russia or Saudi Arabia to live off all the $$$ they’ve stolen from US taxpayers & absconded from other countries through US presidency for profit.
